The Treatment Director is responsible for the overall leadership, administration, and operational management of an assigned EOSIS treatment facility. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, compliant, and financially sustainable substance use disorder treatment services while fostering a safe, professional, and therapeutic environment for clients and employees. The Treatment Director provides strategic leadership, regulatory oversight, staff development, fiscal management, program evaluation, and community engagement to support organizational goals and positive client outcomes.

If the Treatment Director also provides alcohol and drug counseling services, the individual shall be considered a 0.5 FTE Alcohol and Drug Counselor for purposes of meeting applicable staffing requirements .  

Pay: $87,200 - $111,760 Annually
Shift: Day, Full-Time

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. 

• Provide overall leadership and operational oversight for the assigned treatment facility. 

• Develop, implement, and evaluate annual facility goals and objectives aligned with organizational priorities. 

• Develop, manage, and monitor facility budgets to ensure financial stability and responsible resource utilization. 

• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, licensing, accreditation, and organizational requirements. 

• Lead, coach, develop, and support staff to promote employee engagement, performance, and professional growth. 

• Prepare and present monthly financial summaries, analyses, and operational reports. 

• Oversee quality assurance activities, audits, and documentation reviews to ensure regulatory compliance, including Rule 31 requirements. 

• Evaluate program effectiveness and participate in program development, review, and redesign initiatives. 

• Review referrals and determine appropriateness for admission into treatment programs. 

• Assist in program operations and provide support across departments as needed and within scope of qualifications. 

• Approve and oversee payroll processes in accordance with company policies and timelines. 

• Review, investigate, and submit critical incident reports and corrective action plans as required. 

• Provide leadership and support during crisis situations involving clients, staff, or facility operations. 

• Exercise sound judgment and decision-making authority in the best interests of clients, employees, stakeholders, and the community. 

• Develop and maintain productive relationships with referral sources, community partners, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders. 

• Authorize client admissions, transfers, and discharges in accordance with program guidelines and regulatory requirements. 

• Complete ongoing training related to cultural responsiveness and demonstrate sensitivity to diverse backgrounds, values, and experiences. 

• Participate in organizational meetings, committees, and leadership initiatives. 

• Perform other duties as assigned. 

Required Skills

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Behavioral Health, Social Work, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field. 

Experience:   

• Minimum of three (3) years of direct service experience working with individuals experiencing substance use disorders or one (1) year of management or administrative experience in the delivery of substance use disorder treatment services.

• Minimum of 1year of administrative, management, or personnel supervision experience within human services, healthcare, or behavioral health settings. 

Licensure/Certification  

• Must meet all state and regulatory requirements for serving as a Treatment Director within a licensed substance use disorder treatment program. 

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:  

• Thorough knowledge of substance use disorder treatment principles and best practices.

• Understanding of applicable state, federal, licensing, accreditation, and Rule 31 requirements.

• Strong leadership, staff development, coaching, and performance management skills.

• Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively to a variety of audiences.

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural, educational, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

• Knowledge of the Twelve Core Functions of alcohol and drug counseling.

• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, electronic health records, payroll systems, and other business software.

• Strong financial management and budget administration skills.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS  

• Previous leadership experience within a licensed substance use disorder treatment program.

• Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams.

• Experience with CARF, Joint Commission, or other accreditation standards.

• Licensure or certification in addiction counseling, behavioral health, or related disciplines.
