This role works closely with Financial Reporting, Accounting Operations, and Operations teams to ensure accurate processing and recording of payroll activity, support month-end close, and assist with compliance needs. Essential Duties Lead payroll accounting activities, including maintenance of chart-of-accounts mappings; validate payroll extracts and post interface entries to the ERP with full reconciliation to control totals. Assist the Financial Reporting team with the preparation and closing of monthly financial statements for the Company in a timely and accurate manner. Prepare and review account reconciliations for bank accounts, including payroll, tax, benefit, and funding activity; investigate and resolve variances. Review payroll registers, funding reports, and tax data, identifying and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner. Perform cash management activities, including monitoring bank balances, printing checks, administering Positive Pay files, and supporting daily cash positioning to ensure timely funding of payroll, tax, and operational obligations. Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for payroll-related liabilities Maintain audit-ready documentation to support internal controls and external audits. Drive process improvements and document procedures, enhancing efficiency and control effectiveness. Own ad hoc requests and special projects, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting (or comparable experience) and/or 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a payroll or high-volume transactional environment Experience with payroll systems Ability to independently interpret and apply policies and procedures, including identifying and analyzing the effectiveness of internal controls. Able to effectively communicate and build highly productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Enthusiastic learner with the curiosity and desire to continuously improve business and accounting processes and systems, as well as further refine and develop their professional and technical accounting skills. Demonstrated ability to meet required timelines and deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision. High proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, including advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
