Travel Surgical Tech/ORT - Certified Surgical Technologist/CST

American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist for a hospital OR position requiring 1.5 years of experience and CST certification.

Job Details

• Hospital surgical services department covering ambulatory and general OR settings,
• Day shift schedule of three 12-hour shifts, 9:00 AM to 9:30 PM,
• Fair share of call and holiday coverage required,
• Mandatory floating to other units as assigned, including as a Patient Observer/Sitter,
• Case types may include vascular, ENT, general surgery, gynecology, neuro, ophthalmology, orthopedic, robotics, thoracic, and urology procedures,
• Cerner charting system preferred,

Job Requirements

• Minimum 1.5 years of experience required,
• BLS certification required,
• NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required,
• License required if applicable,
• Ability to stand, ambulate, reach, and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs for extended periods,
• Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment with exposure to contagious illnesses,

Additional Information

• Perform surgical technologist duties across a broad range of specialties including vascular, ENT, general, gynecology, neuro, ophthalmology, orthopedic, robotic, thoracic, and urologic surgeries,
• Apply aseptic technique, sterilization, and infection control practices in the operating room,
• Follow universal protocol and time-out procedures for patient safety,
• Maintain compliance with emergency management, fire safety, laser safety, and radiation safety standards,
• Perform proper specimen handling and labeling,
• Facility operates 24/7/365, requiring flexibility for rotating shifts, holidays, and inclement weather coverage,
• First-time travelers are accepted,
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible,
• Candidates residing 51-74 miles away may be offered a reduced local rate,
• Maximum of 10 days RTO permitted, with none allowed during the first week due to orientation requirements
