By joining our family, you'll not only make a meaningful impact on community healthcare but also have the opportunity to grow professionally with us.Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise day-to-day operations of Point of Care Testing laboratory staff, ensuring adherence to departmental policies and Legacy's attendance normsManage Point of Care Testing laboratory scheduling, delegate responsibilities, and enforce rigorous adherence to quality standardsFunction as the Technical Consultant for our innovative point of care testing program, supporting user training and compliance organization-wideIdentify laboratory performance gaps, initiate risk mitigation strategies, and promote laboratory excellenceEmpower your team with Epic support and training by becoming a super userFoster collaboration with Operations, Clinical, and Nursing teams to innovate laboratory servicesConduct team member interviews, performance evaluations, and mentorship to cultivate growth-oriented dynamicsCritically assess and track laboratory quality and performance metrics over varying time frames, focusing on trends and improvement areasStrengthen vendor relationships to enhance patient experience and foster holistic healthcare deliveryLead cross-functional projects aimed at operational enhancementAddress and resolve incident reports and patient grievances efficientlyEngage in monthly leadership forums to advise on strategic laboratory initiativesEnsure strategic, forward-thinking laboratory inventory and equipment managementChampion a robust Laboratory Quality Plan fostering process improvement, accreditation success, and ongoing learningServe as the key contact during internal and external laboratory inspectionsStrictly follow Legacy's HIPAA guidelines to maintain patient confidentialityEngage in additional tasks as necessary to support Legacy's missionMinimum QualificationsMust have strong experience overseeing a Point of Care Testing (POCT) Program and have MLS (ASCP) or MT (AMT) certificationBachelor of Science Degree required; advanced mastery in lab sciencesRequired 2 years of Point of Care Laboratory Management Experience MLS(ASCP) certification or equivalent essential for technical validityMinimum of five years dedicated experience in a laboratory setting, with emphasis on advanced technical proficiencyProven expertise in point of care testing practicesA master's degree in business or healthcare operations is advantageous and may substitute for two years of experienceAbout Legacy Community HealthAs the largest Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Southeast Texas, Legacy Community Health has been delivering comprehensive, high-quality, and affordable health care for nearly 40 years.
