Requirements Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university Occupational Therapy Assistant Certification/License 2+ years of relevant experience; experience in a school and/or pediatric setting(s) preferred BLS/CPR certification Strong communication and organizational skills Initiative and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously Ability to stand or sit for extended periods, read a computer screen or printed material with or without vision aids, hear and understand speech at normal levels on the telephone, speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in person and on the telephone, and understand and follow oral and written instructions Ability to frequently walk, stand, stoop, lift up to approximately 25 pounds and occasionally lift equipment or materials weighing up to approximately 40 pounds Job Description Caseload and details of position/classroom type will differ based on school location – Recruitment Specialists can discuss in detail upon application to connect you to the classroom and best suit your experience and skillset. Contract through the 2026/2027 school year – 35 hours per week. Contract follows the academic district calendar. Duties Evaluate patients by observing their movements, performing standardized tests, and listening to their concerns to establish an individualized plan of care. Competent care is rendered to patients using exercises, stretching, equipment, modalities, and hands‑on therapy to manage patients’ pain, increase mobility, and prevent further pain and injury. Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with patients and motivate them to reach their goals. Provide continuity of care by communicating pertinent patient information with the rehab team, physicians, and other disciplines as needed. Document all patient care in accordance with department policies. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations; and adhering to infection‑control policies and protocols.
