About the Position

We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) for a 13-week Med-Surg assignment in Fort Defiance, Arizona. This opportunity involves providing high-quality nursing care to both adult and pediatric patients in a 20-bed medical-surgical unit.

The ideal candidate will have strong medical-surgical nursing skills, pediatric experience, and the flexibility to support changing unit needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult, geriatric, and pediatric patients.

• Assess patient conditions, administer medications, and monitor treatment responses.

• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

• Maintain accurate patient records and follow established clinical protocols.

• Adapt to changing patient needs and staffing assignments.

• Participate in staff meetings and support flu immunization clinics as assigned.

• Float to other departments within your competency when needed.

• Active Arizona RN license or eligible compact RN privilege accepted by the facility.

• Minimum 3 years of medical-surgical nursing experience.

• At least 1 year of pediatric nursing experience.

• Experience caring for adult, geriatric, and pediatric patients.

• Current American Heart Association BLS/BCLS certification.

• Current ACLS certification.

• Current PALS certification.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Schedule & Assignment Details

• Contract: 13 weeks

• Shift: 12-hour day shifts

• Hours: Schedule typically alternates between 36-hour and 48-hour weeks.

• Flexibility: Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

• Holiday Coverage: Required.

• On-Call: May include up to one on-call shift per week.

• Orientation: Mondays only; candidates must meet compliance deadlines to avoid being moved to a later orientation date.

• Unit: 20-bed adult and pediatric medical-surgical unit.

• Staffing Ratios: Typically 4:1, with maximum ratios depending on patient type and unit needs.
