Job Summary
Assists in providing self-care, social integration, and therapeutic services to persons with intellectual and physical disabilities.

Requirements:

• Must have a valid Current Texas driver’s license or Texas state ID
• Must provide high school diploma, GED, or higher
• Must pass State and Federal background check
• Must have or obtain First Aid & CPR, Abuse, Neglect, and Exploitation, and Infection Control certifications upon hire
• Ability to safely assist lifting individuals of various weights
• Demonstrate a desire to assist clients with physical and mental needs
• Possess many other characteristics, including patience, empathy, and reliability
• Demonstrates organizational, written, and verbal skills
• Maintains positive professional demeanor with staff, caseworkers, and family members/caregivers
• Adhere to scheduled work hours (scheduled hours may change based on need)
• Demonstrate time management skills
• Possess reliable transportation
• Some Attendant Care experience is preferred

Responsibilities:

• Ensure health, safety & welfare of clients
• For All Agencies, notes and daily intakes, body checks, in/out logs, reports completed daily
• Due to HIPPA Law, at no time shall company documents leave or be kept outside of the company premises, except during billing delivery.
• Regularly observes client behavior and performance
• Assist clients with various hygiene/restroom duty needs, including diaper changes, handwashing, etc
• Assist clients with feeding needs, including after-feeding hygiene
• Must be able to read nonverbal and verbal body language and be able to respond properly to emergencies
• Implement and adhere to established treatment plans for clients with mental and physical challenges
• Engage with clients during social activities and outings
• Maintain all required certifications
• Report to alternate work locations when necessary
• Must be clear and maintain acceptable records under the Medicaid Fraud & Abuse clearance process
• Clerical filing and documenting
• Housekeeping

The dress attire for all Empower Me, Inc. Attendant Care personnel is scrubs and closed-toe rubber sole shoes. The shoes and scrubs must fit appropriately (no sagging), be clean, and not be torn or tattered.
