Qualifications Required Skills: Successful completion of an accredited Registered Nursing program. Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree preferred. Current state license as a Registered Nurse. Current CPR Certification. One (1) year recent experience preferred; acute care setting preferred. ACLS certification preferred for LTACH and Texas hospitals. Additional Qualifications/Skills: Knowledge of current nursing theory and practice, infection control, and wound care standards. Knowledge of accreditation standards to ensure adherence to state and accrediting agencies. Knowledge of clinical operations and procedures, and adherence to policies, procedures, and guidelines. Demonstrates critical thinking, general computer, written, and verbal communication skills. Effective organizational and time management skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality, quality, safety, and infection control standards. Ability to work closely and professionally with others. Responsibilities The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care to patients within the assigned unit. The role includes patient assessments, planning, supervision, interventions, and evaluations designed to prevent complications of physical disability, restore optimal functioning, and help patients adapt to an altered lifestyle. The RN integrates the hospital’s mission and guiding principles into daily practice.
