GRASSROOTS ADVOCACY MANAGER

What You’ll Do The Grassroots Advocacy Manager leads high‑impact grassroots and grasstops advocacy initiatives that energize AAN members and strengthen the Academy’s voice with policymakers. Working closely with internal teams and external partners, this role drives strategic engagement efforts that expand influence, build strong advocacy programs, and advance the overall success of AAN’s advocacy agenda. Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Communication, Public Policy, or related field Experience Minimum of 5 years of advocacy program management experience Demonstrated ability to uphold the AAN’s values Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) Strong organizational skills including planning, delegating, and program development Exceptional attention to detail Advanced oral and written communication skills Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously Association experience is preferred Ability to handle confidential information is preferred Exhibits independent analytical and problem‑solving skills is preferred Ability to consistently provide exceptional customer service in person, on the phone, and through written and electronic correspondence is preferred Relevant education and/or experience exceeding the required qualifications may be substituted on a year‑for‑year basis. Travel Requirements Some travel required – up to 10%. Location Washington, DC; hybrid work: required to work in the office with ability to work remotely part of the week.
