This position will be located at 1659 E. Elm Street, Jefferson City, MO 65101 .

We are looking for creative, detail-driven individuals who enjoy serving others and contributing to Missouri's finest natural and cultural resources. As part of our Graphics Section, you will help bring visual stories to life-creating artwork and materials that support visitor services, interpretive programs, retail, and park communication across the state.

Responsibilities - What you'll do

• Develop graphic artwork, layouts, and designs using computer-assisted technology, specialized hardware (including Wacom tablets), and multiple forms of media.
• Create and modify maps, brochures, books, posters, fliers, banners, business cards, retail merchandise, interpretive panels, signs, digital artwork, web artwork, and other design projects as needed.
• Prepare materials for both proofing and production, including mockups, file cleanup, and communication with production partners.
• Prepare four-color printed documents and operate relevant equipment such as printers, laminators, folding/binding equipment, and trimmers.
• Use project management and task-tracking software-such as Microsoft Office Tasks, M365 Outlook Task Systems, and Basecamp-to accept, document, prioritize, and complete projects efficiently.
• Maintain organized archives of artwork, production files, and project documentation.
• Research and troubleshoot design, software, and file issues, collaborating with supervisor when necessary.
• Communicate effectively with team members to ensure proper project prioritization and adherence to production schedules.
• Exhibit professionalism, ethical behavior, and a positive representation of Missouri State Parks in all interactions.
• Assist other sections with Visitor Services Program-related projects as needed.

Qualifications - All you need for success

To be successful in this position, a candidate will need the following skills :

• Oral and Written Communication: Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, consider the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral and written presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
• Strong knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, print, and color.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Canva.
• Ability to effectively use a Wacom tablet and other digital illustration tools.
• Familiarity with project management and workflow tools such as Microsoft Office Tasks, M365 Outlook Task Systems, and Basecamp.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

Equivalent to those typically gained by :

• Bachelor's degree in art, Commercial Art, Graphic Art, Graphic Design, Computer Graphics, or a closely related field, and 0-2 years of graphic design experience. (Additional education or experience may substitute on a yearforyear basis.)
