Under the general direction of the Chief of Staff, the analyst serves as the primary data analytics resource for the agency, planning and implementing complex business initiatives and developing performance measures. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic self‑starter eager to collaborate on strategies that support minority suppliers and vendors in growing their businesses. Provide technical advice and recommendations to senior leadership in developing data collection or survey questions. Extract, index, merge, and manipulate large and multiple data sets into database sources. Attend and provide input in meetings and training sessions, staying abreast of advances in data science and project management. Perform other duties as required or assigned that are reasonably within the scope of the above duties. Specialized Skills One (1) year of professional experience using Tableau or Power BI. One (1) year of professional experience developing prototypes in Python, R, or Scala. One (1) year of administrative experience in a data analytics specialist role in a public or business organization. Minimum Qualifications Knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college, preferably with coursework in computer science, statistics, data analytics, mathematics, finance, or economics. One year of responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization, or completion of an agency‑approved professional management training program. Preferred Qualifications Preference for one (1) year of professional experience using Tableau or Power BI. Preference for one (1) year of professional experience developing prototypes in Python, R, or Scala. Preference for one (1) year of administrative experience in a data analytics specialist role in a public or business organization. Preference for one (1) year of professional experience analyzing administrative problems and adopting an effective course of action. Preference for one (1) year of professional experience exercising judgment and discretion in developing, implementing, and interpreting departmental policies and procedures. Preference for college coursework in computer science, statistics, data analytics, mathematics, economics, or related fields. Conditions of Employment Requires a background check. Overtime is a condition of employment and may be required, including scheduled, unscheduled, or last‑minute overtime. Requires the ability to travel to meetings, training, and off‑site consultations.
