Organization Public Utility Commission of Texas Location Austin, TX Job Type Legal – Attorney II to Attorney IV Salary Monthly $7,350 – $10,938 (Grade 24 B24, B26, B28) Responsibilities Perform moderate to advanced professional legal work for the Market Analysis Division. Analyze complex issues related to electric markets, focusing on ERCOT wholesale and retail competitive markets and utilities regulation. Monitor the ERCOT Stakeholder process to develop legal opinions. Participate in contested case proceedings, rulemakings, legislative analysis, and policy development. Collaborate with market economists, engineers, industry stakeholders, and other professional staff to support division objectives. Qualifications Attorney II: Graduation from an accredited law school with an LLB or JD, licensed with the State Bar of Texas, +2 years of legal work experience as an attorney. Attorney III: Graduation from an accredited law school with an LLB or JD, licensed with the State Bar of Texas, +3 years of legal work experience, preferably in utility regulation or administrative law. Attorney IV: Graduation from an accredited law school with an LLB or JD, licensed with the State Bar of Texas, +4 years of legal work experience, preferably in utility regulation or administrative law. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in utility regulation, administrative law, or electric markets; degree in economics, engineering, business administration or public policy; litigation or administrative law experience; experience supporting or advising on electric market operations, regulatory proceedings, or policy development involving ERCOT or other RTO/ISO organizations.
