Civil 3D - CAD Technician Smyrna, GA Permanent/Direct Hire
A topo-focused CAD group supporting earth-retention design is seeking a mid-level Civil 3D-CAD Drafter/Designer to join their team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers and designers to develop high-quality structural and geotechnical drawings for real-world projects. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, update, and maintain detailed engineering drawings using Civil 3D-CAD software
- Interpret design concepts, sketches, and specifications to produce accurate construction documents
- Revise drawings based on redline markups and complete as-built documentation
- Develop drawings from initial concepts through to finalized, detailed plans
- Assist in improving design efficiency by suggesting modifications or simplifications
- Produce complex technical drawings to meet project requirements and standards
- Coordinate with engineers and fellow CAD team members to ensure project consistency
- Organize and manage CAD files for project layout and documentation
Day-to-Day Duties:
- Building existing ground/topographic surfaces from civil drawings
- Generating profiles and cutting cross-sections from those surfaces.
- Annotating wall and cut heights, laying existing water, electric, and gas lines
Required Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
- 3-5 years of experience in Civil 3D-CAD
- Comfortable working from CAD and PDF source drawings
- Background in civil/site, survey, or utility-coordination
Strongly Preferred Qualifications
- Plan-and-profile
- Utility-conflict experience
- Shoring, retaining wall, and/or geotechnical exposure
