Part-Time Field Service Technician - Kayak Station Maintenance

Location: Stumpy Lake Natural Area, 4797 Indian River Rd, Virginia Beach, VA 23456
Note: Kayak Station is currently hibernated and set to reopen this spring.
Rent.Fun is looking for a part-time mechanic to keep our kayak rental stations in top shape! This role is perfect for a hands-on problem solver who enjoys working independently and keeping equipment well-maintained.

This is a great role for someone looking for flexible, part-time work that gets you outdoors and involves light hands-on tasks. Perfect for gig workers or anyone looking to supplement their income.
Job description
- Conduct monthly equipment checks on our self-service kayak stations.
- Comfortable lifting and moving heavy equipment.
- Occasionally respond to urgent maintenance needs (if reported).
- Basic maintenance tasks like checking locks, cleaning stations, tightening bolts, and replacing signage.
- Use your smartphone to check tickets and update statuses.
Pay Structure
- $50 (per regular monthly visit approx. 1-2 hrs)
- $20 per emergency visit (as directed by the operations)
This is a supplemental-income role — ideal for someone who enjoys simple, independent work on their own schedule.
