Accountant IJob Title: Accountant I (Hybrid – 2 days a week in Texas Support Center)Company: SBHAt Sally Beauty our commitments are to build a truly diverse and inclusive company, care for our customers, people, and planet, and outperform together.Essential Function: Responsible for analyzing financial information and preparing financial reports to determine or maintain record of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities within an organization.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field1-3 years of accounting or finance experiencePrevious experience in month-end close processesSarbanes Oxley compliance experience desiredProficient in Microsoft Office (Word Excel)OracleHyperion is a plusPrimary Duties:30% Performs various account reconciliations to interpret and report the effects of established financial plans.25% Prepares, examines, and analyzes accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.20% Develops, maintains, and analyzes data, to be used in management reporting.15% Establish and assign entries to proper accounts in the General Ledger.10% Develops, implements, modifies, and documents recordkeeping and accounting systems, making use of current computer technology.Competencies / Attributes:Excellent analytical and communication skillsAbility to prepare and process journal entriesWorking Conditions /Physical Requirements:The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, retail stores, and residences or commercial vehicles, e.g., use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, observance of fire regulations and traffic signals, etc. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.The work is sedentary.
