PET Formulation Senior Process Engineer

AstraZeneca's Mt. Vernon site seeks a Senior Process Engineer to provide technical leadership for PET formulation operations, supporting oral solid dose manufacturing across 60+ markets. The role involves process problem-solving, technology transfer, and cross-functional collaboration to optimize quality, yield, and supply reliability.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for formulation areas, investigating process deviations and manufacturing issues
- Lead process improvement projects to reduce costs, enhance quality, improve yield, and reduce material waste
- Design, execute, and validate process qualifications and manufacturing changes
- Serve as subject matter expert for formulation during audits, inspections, and technology transfer initiatives
- Train and mentor process engineers; develop product and process knowledge across multiple streams
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in chemistry, chemical engineering, or related technical field
- Minimum 4 years pharmaceutical production or process engineering experience (or Master's plus 1 year)
- Strong knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs)
- Demonstrated project planning, implementation, and complex problem-solving abilities
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Master's degree highly desirable; continuous manufacturing experience preferred
