Part-Time Social Media Coordinator
Community of Faith
PART-TIME SOCIAL MEDIA COORDINATOR
Location: Hockley, Texas Reports to: Communications Director Hours per week (average): 20 Overtime Status: Non-Exempt About Us At Community of Faith, we believe a career in ministry is more than a job. It is an opportunity to answer God's calling and make an eternal impact. We are a non-denominational, multigenerational, multiethnic missions-focused church committed to helping people know Jesus, grow in their faith, and live lives that make a lasting impact. Guided by our mission to Love God, Love People, and Serve the World, we create environments where people of every age, background, and season of life can encounter Jesus, experience authentic community, deepen their faith, and discover their God-given purpose. We believe the local church is God's plan to bring hope, healing, and transformation to individuals, families, and communities. Whether welcoming first-time guests, caring for children and students, supporting ministries behind the scenes, or stewarding the church's operations, every member of our team plays a vital role in helping people take their next step with Christ. We pursue excellence because it honors God, serve with humility because Jesus first served us, and work together because we believe the local church is at its best when every person faithfully uses their unique gifts to build God's Kingdom. Our vision is to see every person become a fully devoted follower of Jesus, every family strengthened by the hope of the Gospel, and every community transformed through the love of Christ. If you're passionate about using your gifts, talents, and experience to serve others and make an eternal difference, we'd love to explore how God might be calling you to join our team. About the Role At Community of Faith, we believe some of the most powerful stories of what God is doing happen every day. Social media gives us the opportunity to capture what is happening inside our walls and share it far beyond them. It allows us to tell stories of life change, celebrate what God is doing, and invite people to experience the life and community of our church. The Social Media Coordinator will help shape how people experience COF online. This role captures the life, energy, stories, and moments of our church and turns them into compelling digital content that inspires people to engage, belong, and take their next step with Christ. From a powerful moment in worship to a story of life change, a glimpse behind the scenes, or content that simply makes someone stop scrolling, this person helps tell the story of COF in ways that feel authentic, creative, relevant, and unmistakably us. The ideal candidate is a creative storyteller who understands culture, lives comfortably in the digital world, and is always thinking about what could connect next. They have an eye for moments others might miss, understand what makes content worth watching and sharing, and aren't afraid to experiment with new ideas, formats, and trends. They bring creativity and strategy together using social media not simply to promote what is happening at COF, but to build community, invite conversation, and help people encounter Jesus. Responsibilities Social Media Strategy and Management (30%) Develop and execute social media strategies that support the vision, ministries, events, and communication priorities of COF. Manage COF's presence across Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and other social platforms. Create, schedule, publish, and manage a consistent flow of social media content. Develop and maintain a social media content calendar in coordination with church-wide events and Communications team priorities. Stay current on social media trends, platform changes, and best practices and identify opportunities to strengthen engagement and reach. Monitor analytics and use insights to continually improve content and performance. Coordinate paid social media promotions and advertising as needed. Content Creation & Storytelling (30%) Create engaging social content including posts, stories, reels, short-form videos, sermon clips, worship and music content, and other creative assets. Capture photo and video content during designated services, events, ministry experiences, and church activities. Identify and tell stories that highlight life change, ministry impact, and what God is doing through COF. Collaborate with the Communications Director, Graphic Designer, Videographer, and ministry teams to develop creative content. Maintain a consistent visual style, voice, and message that aligns with the Community of Faith brand. Digital Community & Engagement (30%) Monitor and respond to comments, direct messages, and social media interactions in a timely and appropriate manner. Engage with the online community in a way that reflects the heart, values, and voice of COF. Identify opportunities to encourage conversation, connection, participation, and next steps. Help ensure questions and requests received through social media are connected to the appropriate ministry or staff member. Escalate sensitive questions, concerns, or situations to the Communications Director when appropriate. Ministry & Team Partnership (10%) Partner with ministry leaders and staff to identify stories, events, and opportunities for social media content. Participate in Communications team meetings, planning, and creative development. Attend designated weekend services, special events, and ministry activities to capture and share content. Support broader Communications initiatives, campaigns, and church-wide events as needed. Job Requirements Education and Experience High school diploma or the equivalence of education and experience required; college coursework or degree in communications, marketing, digital media, graphic design, or a related field preferred. Experience managing social media accounts for a church, nonprofit, organization, or brand. Experience creating engaging short-form video, photography, and digital content. Experience developing and executing social media content calendars and campaigns preferred. Photography experience and knowledge of basic photography principles preferred. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, or similar creative tools preferred. Experience serving or working in a church or ministry environment is a plus. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, algorithms, and best practices. Strong creative and storytelling skills with the ability to turn ministry moments and ideas into engaging digital content. Ability to create and edit short-form video, photography, graphics, and other social media content. Strong written communication skills with excellent grammar, spelling, and attention to detail. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and work effectively with staff, volunteers, ministry leaders, and members of the church community. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a content calendar, deadlines, and multiple priorities. Ability to understand and maintain a consistent brand voice and visual identity. Ability to review analytics, identify trends, and use insights to improve content and engagement. Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative, work independently, and follow through on responsibilities. Adaptable and able to respond quickly to opportunities in a fast-moving social media environment. Who You Are You have a growing and authentic relationship with Jesus Christ and a passion for using your creativity to serve the local church. You are a storyteller at heart and naturally notice moments, people, and stories worth sharing. You understand digital culture and are energized by what's next in social media, content, and storytelling. You know the difference between simply posting content and creating something that makes people stop, watch, engage, and share. You are creative and willing to experiment, take thoughtful risks, test new ideas, and learn from what works. You can take a big idea or ministry moment and turn it into content that feels simple, compelling, and relevant. You understand that great content can be polished without feeling overly produced and authentic without feeling unintentional. You are proactive, resourceful, and comfortable moving quickly when an unexpected story or opportunity emerges. You enjoy collaborating with creative people and ministry leaders and can turn their ideas into content people want to experience. You pursue excellence and believe social media can do more than promote church—it can tell stories of life change, create belonging, start conversations, and help people take their next step with Jesus. Working Hours This is a part-time hybrid position with a flexible weekday schedule, allowing the employee to generally determine their Monday-Thursday work hours based on ministry needs and responsibilities. Attendance at required staff meetings, trainings, and other scheduled team commitments is expected. Regular Sunday hours are 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, holidays, and All Hands on Deck (AHOD) events as needed to support ministry activities and special events. #J-18808-Ljbffr Community of FaithVacancy posted 5 days ago
