Full-time Description OVERALL SUMMARY: Responsible for supporting nursing and medical staff in administrating care to patients. Functions cooperatively with physicians and staff exhibiting teamwork characteristics. Reports to the Clinic Lead Nurse (LPN/RN) for daily assignments and follows instructions as directed by the Clinical Administrator. PAY $18.50 - $26.00/hour. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: A. Coordinate and prioritize tasks, maintaining daily flow of the unit in a complex, rapidly changing environment B. Effectively manages various clerical tasks, such as assisting with order processing, stocking and other duties as assigned C. Accurately obtains vital signs as indicated and documents in computer. D. Observes universal precautions. E. Refers situations beyond ability or function to proper person. F. Participates in QA/Safety Program. G. Assists with maintaining adequate inventory of supplies. H. Assists with housekeeping responsibilities as directed by Clinic Nursing Staff. I. Informs Clinic Nursing staff when leaving for break, lunch or for the day. J. Reinforces education to patients and places patient at ease and offers reassurance as needed. K. Performs other tasks and duties as directed by the Clinical Administrator or physician which are within their legal limitation. L. Seeks educational opportunities and accepts responsibilities for own professional growth and development. Participates with inservice opportunities and staff meetings. M. Must maintain patient right to privacy by not discussing privileged information outside the work area or within hearing range of visitors, family or other patients. N. Keeping examining rooms clean, neat and stocked. O. Cleans rooms after each patient and leaves ready for next patient. P. Prepares patient as requested by providers according to type of exam. Q. Assists with answering the phone when necessary. R. Knowledgeable of potential exposure to hazardous materials (i.e., patient body fluids and disinfectant chemicals). Requirements QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Certification in Illinois as a medical assistant
2. Effective, oral, written and reading communication skills
3. Displays a primary interest in giving good patient care and maintaining standards of courtesy and friendliness to co-workers.
4. Maintains Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
5. Able to maintain and comply with patient confidentiality and integrity policy on all matters.
6. Knowledge of computers helpful and preferred. xywuqvp

WORKING CONDITIONS: The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

1. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
2. Must be able to help lift, turn, roll, push, and pull equipment/patients for proper positioning during procedures and transportation from one area to the other as necessary
