NDT Technician

Position Summary Magellan Aerospace, Middletown has an exciting opportunity for a Nondestructive Test Technician Level ll to conduct radiographic and ultrasonic on metal parts to determine if parts meeti nodestructive specidications. Following work instructions Set up and standardize equipment, process parts, interpret and evaluate for acceptance or rejection, and document result. Be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the technique/method. Conduct system performance checks in accordance with the applicable process standard. Providing the necessary guidance and/or supervision to trainees and Level 1 personnel. Be familiar with the codes, standards, and other contractual documents that control the method as used by MAM. When specified, develop work instructions from approved general procedures. Such work instructions shall require final approval by a Level 3 certified in the method. Have a basic knowledge of relevant product manufacturing and inspection technology. Position Requirements Two-year certificate from college or technical school; 3-4 years experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience 40 hours of Radiographic R/T Inspeciton Method Training 12 months of experience in Radiographic R/T Inspection 40 hours of Ultrasonic U/T Inspection Method Training Certification in both inspection methods Ability to read, analyze, and interpret, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as solid geometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
