Accounting PositionBenefits:Health insurancePaid time offParental leaveVision insurance401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceSummary/Objective: This position is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of the bank, to include assisting in the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records through preparation of journal entries and reconciliation of accounts and statements, helping to ensure the accuracy of the bank's reported financial results, and that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.Essential Functions:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Day-to-Day OperationsHelp maintain a documented system of accounting policies and proceduresSupport the day-to-day operations of the accounting function of the bankSupport the transaction-processing operationsTransactionsEnsure that accounts payable are paid in a timely mannerMaintain fixed asset records and process depreciationMaintain prepaid expense records and process amortizationEnsure that periodic correspondent bank reconciliations are completed and outstanding items are cleared in a timely fashionMaintain an orderly accounting filing systemMaintain a system of controls over accounting transactionsReportingAssist in the issuance of timely and complete financial statementsPreparation of supporting information for regulatory reports to banking regulatorsAssist in the calculation and issuance of financial and operating metricsCalculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to managementOversee the bank's vendor management program and reportingComplianceAssist in the coordination of the provision of information to external and internal auditors for their periodic reviewsAssist in the coordination of the provision of information to the regulators of the bank during their examinationsComply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and sales tax filingsAdditional DutiesAny other functions as assignedCompetencies:Attention to detailAccuracyEvaluating information to determine compliance with standardsDeadline orientedConfidentialityOrganizing, planning and prioritizing workInteracting with computersActive listeningCritical thinkingMathematical reasoningOral and written comprehensionDeductive reasoningProcessing informationResearching informationSupervisory Responsibility: This position is not responsible for the supervision of other employees.Work Environment: This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, fax machines, email, electronic calendars, scanning devices, calculators, and currency and coin machines.Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, squat, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. This job also requires the employee to frequently lift at least 50 pounds.Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a one-hour lunch break, but may change depending on staffing needs and workload. This position requires occasional evening and weekend work as needed.Travel: Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.Minimum Required Education and Experience: Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance.
