Location: Markham, ON (Remote Option Available)
Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent
About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned Guidewire Solution Architect to define, design, and deliver enterprise-grade architecture solutions spanning commercial insurance workflows, underwriting, policy, billing, and claims. You will drive digital transformation, legacy policy conversions, and Guidewire Cloud Platform (GWCP) migrations while ensuring solution integrity, security, and performance.
Key Responsibilities

Solutions & Architecture Assurance: Design and deliver robust solutions for the Guidewire Insurance Suite (PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, BillingCenter, ContactCenter). Develop migration strategies, conduct legacy policy conversions, evaluate trade-offs (cost, risk, benefit), and manage technical debt.

Technical Leadership: Enforce architecture standards, conduct peer code/design reviews, and evaluate new Guidewire Cloud capabilities. Mentor engineering teams and foster technical growth.

Integration & Innovation: Architect complex integrations connecting Guidewire to external ecosystems (CRM, pricing engines, document management, payment systems, broker portals) using APD and Guidewire Integration Frameworks.

Commercial Insurance Modernization: Lead submission intake modernization initiatives, leveraging automated data extraction, document ingestion, and classification to streamline underwriting workflows.

Stakeholder Management & Community: Collaborate with project managers, enterprise architects, and external vendors. Contribute actively to the internal Solution Architecture community to refine design practices.
Required Qualifications & Skills

Guidewire Expertise: Extensive hands-on experience architecting and implementing Guidewire PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, BillingCenter, Workbench, APD, and Cloud Platform (GWCP).

Commercial Insurance Domain Knowledge: Deep knowledge of commercial product structures (multi-line, multi-location, schedules, packages) and full lifecycle operations (rating, endorsements, renewals, audits, claims).

Cloud & Integration Architecture: Proven expertise in REST/SOAP APIs, microservices, and public cloud platforms.

Cloud Certification: AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect preferred.

Leadership & Methodology: Strong background in Agile methodologies, technical governance, financial acumen for business-case development, and senior stakeholder management.
