The Role

• Full-time leadership position overseeing medical quality and doctor development across assigned hospitals in the Atlanta area
• Champion a culture of safety, consistency and client-centered care; monitor and improve key medical and hospital performance metrics
• Conduct regular hospital visits, quality reviews and coaching sessions to build engagement and elevate standards
• Lead recruiting efforts, participate in interviews and referrals, and design strong onboarding and mentorship for new associates and relief veterinarians
• Partner with practice leadership to coordinate patient flow, client communication and team alignment
• Manage medical equipment functionality and maintenance requests across assigned sites
• Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations, including controlled substances and radiation safety
• Engage with local and state veterinary organizations to build professional relationships
• Provide clinical care as scheduled, including general medicine, diagnostics and basic soft-tissue surgery
• Schedule may include some evenings and weekends; travel between local hospitals is required

Requirements

• DVM or VMD degree from an accredited veterinary school
• Active Georgia veterinary license (or ability to obtain prior to start)
• Eligible to work in the United States
• DEA registration (or eligibility) and working knowledge of controlled substance regulations
• Proven leadership experience coaching veterinarians; prior lead/medical director/chief of staff experience preferred
• Proficiency in general medicine and basic surgical procedures
• Excellent communication, coaching, problem-solving and time-management skills
• Comfort working in a fast-paced small-animal environment within a retail-based clinic
• Ability to stand for extended periods, safely handle companion animals and lift up to 50 pounds
• Valid driver license and reliable transportation for travel between local hospitals
