Job Description:

The Registered Nurse in the Med/Surg unit is responsible for providing direct patient care, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with established policies and procedures. This position requires experience in MedSurg and/or ICU with EPIC or Cerner experience, and a minimum of 18 months of relevant experience.

Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care to a variety of patient types, including general surgery, vascular surgeries, CVA, TBI, seizure, AMS, spinal fusion, and craniotomy patients.
• Perform skills such as wound care, chest tubes, NGT, IV skills, medication administration, and documentation.
• Interpret and confirm telemetry strip readings every 4 hours.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and communicate necessary information.

Requirements:

• BLS, NIHSS certifications required.
• Experience with Cerner EMR preferred.
• Minimum of 18 months experience in MedSurg and/or ICU required.
• Skills in assessment, prioritization, communication, and documentation are essential.
