Athletic Trainer

High School Athletic Trainer

The Athletic Trainer provides healthcare services to high school student-athletes, including injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and emergency care. The Athletic Trainer works closely with athletes, coaches, parents/guardians, physicians, and school administration to promote student-athlete health and safety.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and treat athletic injuries and illnesses
• Provide first aid and emergency care during practices and competitions
• Develop and supervise rehabilitation and return-to-play programs
• Maintain accurate and confidential records
• Communicate with parents, coaches, physicians, and school personnel regarding athlete care
• Develop and implement emergency action plans and injury-prevention programs
• Monitor environmental conditions and help prevent heat-related and other sports-related illnesses
• Maintain athletic training supplies and equipment
• Follow applicable school, state, and professional standards and regulations
