Part Time - Lead Registered Nurse

Salary $39.11 - $62.58 Hourly $81,349 - $130,159 Annually This position is a Pay Band C11 Overview This part‑time position will assess patients' health problems and needs. The incumbent is responsible for developing and implementing nursing care plans and administering nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, and/or disabled patients. The incumbent will provide ongoing training, advise patients on health maintenance, disease prevention, and case management. Responsibilities Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records. Administer medications to patients and monitor patients for reactions or side effects. Record patients' medical information and vital signs. Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions. Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans. Customers Residents at a long‑term care facility. Ideal Candidate Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, or the general public. Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities. Ability to function independently, and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies. Minimum Qualification Must possess a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in New Mexico, or eligibility for such licensure in accordance with New Mexico requirements, or eligibility for a temporary license issued for employment at a specific institution in New Mexico and five (5) years of experience as it pertains to the essential duties and responsibilities of the classification. Employment Requirements Designation as safety sensitive. Pre‑employment and random testing for alcohol and/or drug testing per federal and state law. Screening for tuberculosis (TB) upon hire. Nationwide criminal background check pursuant to New Mexico Caregivers Criminal Screening Act and NMAC regulations, conditional upon results. License to practice as a Registered Nurse in New Mexico. Working Conditions Work throughout the nursing service area (nurses' stations, resident rooms, etc.). Move intermittently during working hours. Subject to frequent interruptions. Interact with residents, personnel, visitors, and government agencies. Manage hostile or emotionally upset residents, family members, personnel, and visitors. Communicate with medical staff, nursing personnel, and other department directors. Work beyond normal hours, including weekends and holidays when necessary. Be prepared for call back during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post‑disaster). Be exposed to infectious waste, diseases, and conditions. Lift, carry, or move a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and up to a distance of 50 feet. Adhere to COVID‑related requirements prescribed by CMS.
