Qualifications:

Required:

• Registered Nurse in the state of New Jersey
• Fluent in Spanish (spoken and written) , highly preferred to be able to communicate with Spanish-speaking patients for special education and evaluation sessions.
• BLS via American Heart Association upon hire
• BSN Required
• Phlebotomy Certification
• Three to five years of nursing experience required, preferably in-patient acute care hospital-based experience
• Completion of all orientation programs

Preferred:

• Certified Clinical Transplant Coordinator (CCTC) certification preferred
• Experience in renal dialysis and/or transplantation preferred

Special Skills :

• Must seek and maintain in-depth knowledge of transplant nursing,
• Excellent interpersonal skills,
• Proficiency with computer,

Scheduling Requirements:

• Day Shift
• Full-Time
• No weekends or overnight
• No major holidays
• No on-call required

Essential Functions:

Coordinates all aspects of the evaluation/listing process for deceased donor and living donor transplantation for Chronic Kidney Disease patients. Acts as liaison between Cooperman Barnabas and all referring dialysis centers and referring MDs. Ensures continuity of care through effective communication and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team in all areas of the transplant department. Use an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patient's age-specific needs and provide age-specific treatment. 100% of job responsibilities are pre-transplant - no-time study is required.
