This role is hands on with design, development, modification, and analysis of various electronics systems including motor controller and power conversion applications for naval ships and submarines.What You Will DoDesign, develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, systems or subsystems Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions in existing products or systems and makes modifications as neededCompile and evaluate design and test dataAnalyze, develop, and recommend design approachesMay use computer-aided engineering or other design/analysis software in the performance of assignments Provide regular reporting of progress and statusReview customer specifications and requirements, and under direction, develop designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variable Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems and servicesDevelop prototypes to retire key development risks as directedEducation & Experience RequirementsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field + at least 8 years of experience in design and product developmentKnowledge of power electronics, power distribution, circuit board design, and/or semi-conductors is much preferredMotivated and engaged; comfortable in a team environment but also okay with working independently sometimesWilling and able to mentor junior engineersU.S. Citizenship required.
