Clinical Genetic Counselor-Assistant Professor-Human Genetics

Overview Clinical faculty (regardless of rank) are non-tenure track faculty positions with fixed-term contracts. Faculty titles include professor-clinical, associate professor-clinical, assistant professor-clinical, and instructor-clinical. Duties are assigned in accordance with department workload guidelines. These faculty are teacher-practitioners primarily engaged in teaching activities and normally hold a doctorate or other terminal degree in the relevant field or have equivalent experience. The Ohio State University Division of Human Genetics is seeking a dynamic genetic counselor for a clinical excellence faculty position in the growing adult medical genetics clinical care area. The role involves building and growing new clinical collaborations, delivering clinical services, conducting research on rare diseases, and actively engaging in teaching and mentoring. Responsibilities Provide clinical genetic services in general genetics clinics. Establish new clinical relationships with physicians and staff. Teach genetic counseling graduate students, medical students, residents, and fellows. Participate in genetic research programs. Qualifications Candidate should have an earned doctorate or other terminal degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
