- Position Type: Contract
- Contract Duration: 3 months
- Pay Rate: $20.00 / Hour (USD)
- Shift / Schedule: Monday-Friday, 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM CST
- Work Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.
- Perform A-station, presort, pickup, and delivery of processed specimens to the laboratory
- Perform imaging/microfilming, centrifugation, and aliquoting functions
- Enter data at a minimum of 6,000 alphanumeric keystrokes per hour
- Work in a biohazard environment, practicing good safety habits
- Sit or stand for long periods as required by the production environment
- Communicate effectively with all levels of staff
- Adhere to core values, safety, and compliance policies and procedures
- Keep work area neat and clean
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills that foster a positive environment
- Demonstrate flexibility and ability to adapt to change
- Meet productivity/quality standards and departmental completion times within a production environment
- Data entry background with ability to enter 6,000 alphanumeric keystrokes per hour
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to learn and understand specimen types related to tests ordered by clients
- Ability to learn and understand compliance regulations related to test ordering
- Strong interpersonal skills that foster a positive environment
- Flexibility and ability to adapt to change
- Effective communication skills across all levels of staff
- Basic understanding of computers
- Knowledge of laboratory testing and/or laboratory specimen processing
- Medical background, including medical terminology applicable to a clinical laboratory
- Previous laboratory experience
- Previous hospital laboratory experience
- Previous experience in a production environment
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- No experience required
- Previous laboratory experience preferred
- Previous hospital laboratory experience (a plus, but not required)
- Previous experience in a production environment preferred
- Works in a biohazard environment; good safety habits required at all times
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods
- Department is a production environment with emphasis on productivity/quality standards and departmental completion times
- Majority of shifts are on the night shift; weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime availability is a requirement based on staffing needs
