Lead Weekend Sanitation Technician

Hours: 6am-6pm (Fri-Sun)

Compensation:

• Based on experience, all in hourly compensation could be up to $25.01/hr
  • Work 36 hours, get paid for 40 hours
• Profit Sharing Eligibility: Begins after completing 1 year of employment ($7.7 Million in Profits Paid to Profit Sharing Pool in 2025)

What We Are Looking For

Tuffy’s Pet Food is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the Weekend Shift , Sanitation Lead  position. Requirements, desired qualification, skills and abilities located below.

JOB OBJECTIVE

To oversee the sanitation department; train all sanitation/janitorial employees on proper methods of cleaning. Create and adhere to sanitation work instructions. Complete general housekeeping and sanitation in processing areas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Cleaning of all processing equipment and building structure according to sanitation standard operating procedures 
• Operating equipment 
• Assembling and dis-assembling of equipment 
• Perform chemical concentration testing 
• Directing/leading sanitation/janitorial workers 
• Responsible to make sure employees are working in a safe manor 
• Training employees on relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs) 
• Update SOPs and WIs with any changes in procedure or chemicals 
• Inventory for sanitation department 
• Proper use of all equipment required to complete task 
• Monitor for possible rodent or bug infestation 
• Work with peer, supervisors, and subordinate groups 
• Perform preventive maintenance functions as required 
• Write up work request orders for areas that need maintenance attention 
• Make recommendations for facility improvements 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS & PHYSICAL SPECIFICATIONS

• Self-motivation 
• Learning, memorizing and executing a sequence of procedures 
• Must be comfortable working on ladders and lifts at various heights 
• Must wear safety harnesses in required areas at required heights 
• Good hand – eye coordination 
• Willing and able to get along with others 
• Able to work independently and as a team 
• Good judgment and reasoning abilities 
• Ability to drive forklift and pass certification exam 
• Knowledge of chemicals 
• Basic computer skills in Word and Excel 
• General mathematical ability 
• Good documentation skills 
• Experience or training 3 months
