Part-Time Retail Sales Cashier Associate - Broadway Store

Job Summary The Associate I, Retail Sales Cashier, is responsible for providing exceptional customer service by greeting customers in a welcoming manner and responding timely and professionally to customer inquiries. Sales Associates must help maintain a well‑stocked and organized sales floor that meets company standards and be able to operate a point‑of‑sale (POS) cash register system to ensure product and pricing accuracy at the time of purchase. Essential Functions Verify till counts, provide accurate cashier transactions, and maintain a balanced cash drawer using a computer‑based POS system. Drive the roundup initiative by engaging customers and sharing knowledge of the mission it supports. Provide excellent customer service upholding company values. Assist customers with questions, concerns, and purchases. Complete opening and closing procedures. Maintain a clean and organized sales floor by regularly cleaning shelves and racks, picking items up off the floor, and putting away returned or unwanted items. Provide a safe, clean, organized, and well‑stocked POS, sales floor, and restrooms. Initiate customer delight/power hour calls over intercom to organize and clean the sales floor. Follow all retail center policies and procedures. Follow all safety processes and procedures to provide a safe working environment for employees and customers. Cross‑train in other departments or areas; act as a back‑up for other areas as required. Job duties may extend beyond the tasks listed and may include additional responsibilities as required. Experience One (1) year of retail sales or cash handling experience is preferred. Other Requirements Accuracy with numbers and general calculations; understand the value of different coins and United States (US) currency. Basic math skills such as adding, subtracting, and multiplication. Effective communication with customers, managers, supervisors, staff, and peers. Operation of a computer‑based cash register and credit card machine. Ability to withstand prolonged standing, bending, and lifting up to eight (8) hours per day. Ability to see color for accurate transactions. Versatility to work a varied schedule to include weekends, evenings, and holidays with occasional overtime as necessary. Physical Requirements Requirements include continuous lifting of 15–44 lbs occasionally, light lifting under 14 lbs frequently, and various movements such as pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, and walking frequently.
