Victim Advocate

JobSummary: The VictimAdvocate shall be responsible for the provision of services to victims ofdomestic and sexual violence and their families to include victim assistance,community education, and volunteer management in the designated satellitecenter andrelevant service area., including but not limited to the following: VictimAssistance 1. Assess client needs andprovide services as needed. 2. Provide individual crisis and support group counseling for victims and their families. 3. Provide support services for victims and their families to include advocacy, hospital and court accompaniment, information and referral, and resource procurement. 4. Provide follow-up services to victims and the their families. 5. Provide staff backup for volunteer victim advocates at night and on weekends on a rotation basis. 6. Maintain and enter services into database on a daily basis. 7. Complete necessary reports as scheduled. Volunteer Program 1. Schedule and manage volunteers. 2. Maintain and enter volunteer statistics in to database on monthly basis. Inter-Agency Coordination 1. RepresentPee Dee Coalition and take an active part in related communitytaskforces, committees. etc. Community Education, Training, And Awareness 1. Provide community education and awareness on the issues of domestic and sexual violence and program services as assigned. 2. Document all community education and submit reports according to organizational policy. 3. Assist with the planning and implementation of activities for specific awareness months (Child Abuse Prevention, Sexual Assault Awareness, and Domestic Violence Awareness). 4. Actively distribute brochures, crisis cards, and materials throughout the community. 5. Assist with in-service training for professionals. 6. Participate in the public education component of the organization through public speaking, media interviews, and attendance/participation in community events. General Responsibilities 1. Be familiar with organizational goals and objectives and ensure compliance with required services and documentation. 2. Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures as outlined in the Staff Manual, Program Procedures Manual, and Personnel Policies. 3. Participate in staff development trainings as indicated by supervisor. Summarize information and report accordingly. 4. Perform administrative functions as appropriate for position and meet organization deadlines as indicated. 5. Prepare monthly service/activity reports for the Board of Directors. 6. Obtain Victim Service Provider certification within first year of employment and maintain annually by securing appropriate number of training hours. 7. Assist with the general maintenance and upkeep of building. Educational Requirements Bachelor'sDegree in Social Work, or related field of study (Psychology, Sociology orCriminal Justice) Must have experience with Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Must provide services in Marion and Dillon County. Reside in the Marion or Dillon County. Must be able to respond after hours to local hospitals to provide advocacy/support Must be able to attend after hours events #J-18808-Ljbffr Kaizen Lab Inc.
