Job Description Machinist Job Description Manual Machinist Manufacture and make repairs per instructions and/or drawings to electric motor, pump and gear components Operate machine shop equipment. Operate overhead cranes and perform rigging. Perform inspections including measuring fits. Properly filling out all paperwork. Qualifications Minimum 2 year of experience operating horizontal lathes, milling machines, vertical turret lathes and boring mils. Must have ability to work with extremely close tolerances (example: .0005\" to .001\") Good verbal and written communication skills. Must be physically able to safely operate all equipment, able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and capable of standing for long periods of time. Responsibilities & Requirements Selects aligns and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills and lathes Verifies conformance of finished work to specifications Confers with the Service Manager and others to resolve machining or assembly problems Works to achieve production goals in a timely manner Adheres to and maintains quality work practices, qualifications, and procedures Maintains machinery and a clean work area Performs other duties as assigned or required. Required High School diploma or GED Good understanding of mechanical equipment Good Initiative and work ethics 2+years of experience working with high tolerances Must be able to use precision tools (i.e., micrometers) to take accurate measurements Company Description We sell and service electrical apparatus- motors, pump, gearing and equipment from our wholesale house, in the service center and in the field. #J-18808-Ljbffr Ireland Electric Company
