Cardiac Cath Lab AssistantAccountable for assisting the cardiologist in performing cardiac procedures for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. These diagnostic and therapeutic procedures support enhanced function of the circulation and electric pathways of the heart.Essential FunctionsPrepares and positions patient for the procedure.Supports and collects necessary data to ensure the safety and quality expectations are met for the patient and the team.Provides sterile instruments and supplies during the diagnostic and invasive cardiac procedures.Assists with and operates supporting equipment needed for procedure. Equipment may include recording system, mapping system, ultrasound system, advanced circulatory pumps, FFR, OCT, laser equipment and other equipment as needed.Maintains documentation of the procedure for accurate clinical, hemodynamic, billing and quality requirements.Administers medications under the immediate direction of the physician.Prepares room for cardiac catheterization procedures, restocks room as necessary, and cleans and prepares equipment, stretchers, work areas and reusable supplies, returning unneeded equipment to appropriate area.Communicates and collaborates with patients and other members of the health care team in order to ensure continuity and coordination of services.QualificationsRequiredRequired Associate's Degree health care related fieldDirect patient care in the acute care/hospital setting PreferredKnowledge of ECG tracings PreferredPrevious procedural experience PreferredCRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 30 Days required OrCRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 30 Days requiredCRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association 1 Year requiredCRT-Pediatric Adv Life Support (PALS) - AHA American Heart Association If working with pediatric patients 1 Year requiredCRT-Reg Card Elect Specialist (RCES) - CCINT'L Cardiovascular Credentialing International 3 Yrs required OrCRT-Reg Card Inter Specialist (RCIS) - CCINT'L Cardiovascular Credentialing International 3 Yrs requiredAbout Corewell HealthAs a team member at Corewell Health, you will play an essential role in delivering personalized health care to our patients, members and our communities.
