Shift Leader

Playa Bowls—New Jersey's original Acai shop—has expanded rapidly with over 70 new locations in 2024 and plans to add 90 more in 2025. We are seeking a Shift Leader to help grow our brand. As a Shift Leader you will act as an extension of management and be trusted with the shop during times when management is absent. What You’ll Do Manage and maintain food quality, discarding product when necessary Delegate work to employees responsibly Lead opening and closing shifts Issue refunds Resolve customer issues politely Maintain inventory records throughout the shift and nightly Count the register, safe, and deposit Communicate with management about any issues Ensure all tasks are completed timely and per company standards Live the Playa Bowls mission, purpose, and values What You’ll Bring Commitment to exceptional customer service Leadership by example and adherence to company policies Flexibility and adaptability in a fast‑paced environment Prioritization skills while balancing team and customer duties Clear communication and delegation Composure under pressure, handling disputes calmly Empathy, active listening, and support of team members Adherence to food safety standards and monitoring team performance Requirements Available to work 5 shifts per week, minimum 30 hours Must be available weekends as business requires Must complete PB Food Safety certification within 3 months of hire Essential Physical Functions Remain stationary for prolonged periods Lift or move 25–40 pounds occasionally Retrieve items from high/low shelving, fridge/freezer, and under counters Tolerate occasionally loud environments Move frequently to access POS, assemble orders, clear tables, and restock Equal Opportunity Employer Playa Bowls is an equal opportunity employer committed to inclusivity and diversity.
