As a batch cook, you will be responsible for preparing large quantities of food while maintaining quality, consistency, and food safety standards. Position Details:
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, day shift (10AM-6:30PM)
- Pay: $21-$23/hr Depending on Experience!
Batch cooking can involve making full meals or preparing components-like cooked meats, grains, or chopped vegetables-that can be mixed and matched throughout the week. It helps save time, reduce food waste, and make meal planning easier. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook bulk meals according to established recipes and portion guidelines.
- Ensure consistency in taste, appearance, and texture of food items.
- Manage food inventory, rotate stock, and minimize waste.
- Follow all food safety regulations, including proper storage and handling procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and workstations.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to optimize efficiency and workflow.
- Adhere to production schedules and meet daily meal preparation targets.
- Operate kitchen equipment, including ovens, grills, and food processors, safely and efficiently.
- Proven experience in a fast-paced cooking environment .
- Proficiency in high-volume cooking , serving 200+ people (e.g., cafeteria, elder care, hotels, or similar settings).
- Experience in food preparation or cooking in a high-volume setting.
- Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Ability to follow recipes and maintain consistency in food production.
- Efficient multitasking and time management skills.
- Ability to lift heavy ingredients and stand for extended periods.
- Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
