Senior AccountantSenior AccountantBirmingham, Alabama$85,000 - $95,000 + BonusOur client is hiring a Senior Accountant to lead core accounting and reporting functions across key financial areas. This full-time, in-office position will focus on maintaining reliable financial records, supporting operational reporting needs, and ensuring accurate output for internal and external stakeholders.In this position, the Senior Accountant will contribute to financial reporting cycles, support liquidity and working capital visibility, and collaborate with finance leadership to deliver business-focused insights. The role will also play an important part in strengthening internal controls and enhancing reporting processes.What You'll Do:Produce financial reports and assist with preparation of formal financial statements, including supporting schedules and disclosuresCoordinate month-end and quarter-end close processes, including posting entries and performing balance sheet reconciliationsAnalyze cash flow activity and contribute to development of reporting related to liquidity and working capital performanceEvaluate revenue trends and build analytical models to support forecasting and performance trackingPerform variance analysis across income statement, balance sheet, and cash-related accountsCollaborate with FP&A and accounting leadership to deliver actionable financial insightsAssist with external audits, regulatory reporting, and compliance activities including internal control requirementsIdentify and implement improvements to accounting workflows and reporting systemsWhat We're Looking For:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a closely related disciplineProfessional designation such as CPA is preferredAt least four years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within complex or multi-entity environmentsStrong knowledge of financial reporting practices and general accounting standardsExperience with ERP platforms and advanced proficiency in spreadsheet toolsDemonstrated ability to manage competing deadlines and maintain accuracy under pressureAnalytical mindset with strong attention to detailEffective communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionallyExposure to data analysis tools such as SQL, Python, or advanced Excel techniquesRooted in Birmingham.
