Production Assembler - 1st Shift $19.00

Description Who is Harmar? We manufacture wheelchair lifts for automobiles, stair lifts for the home and residential and commercial vertical platform lifts. We sell to dealers and to the government. Ultimately our products give people access to their homes and allow them to become more mobile. We say, “We Lift Lives”. Hours and Compensation Monday – Thursday, 6:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (Two Fridays required overtime per month). Hourly pay: $19.00. Job Duties Read/Write English – bilingual is a plus. Be able to complete and pass a background and drug test (including THC). Follow detailed assembly instructions, processes and procedures. Be able to stand in small space for a 10‑hour shift. Be able to consistently lift/pack 50‑70 lb. Report and/or record any problems with parts or the final assembly product or process to the lead person, production manager, or quality assurance personnel. Provide hands‑on job‑function training to coworkers as needed. Maintain a clean and organized work area (5‑S). Report component part shortages to the Manufacturing and Production Managers, and the Purchasing Coordinator as soon as they are detected. Assess adequacy of component part stocking levels. Maintain established kanbans. Create a plan for assembly procedures, following specifications and using knowledge gained by experience. Operate production line equipment of a level of complexity requiring specified training, or assemble products, units, machines, equipment, and/or subassemblies. Mount and connect mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic or hydraulic equipment, cut and fit pipe and tubing. Remove small quantities of metal, using hand files or portable grinders, to clean parts or to produce a close fit between parts. Drill, tap or ream holes using drill press or portable drill. Align components, bolts, screws or rivets together using hand tools or portable powered tools. Install moving parts, such as shafts, levers, or bearings, and work them to test free movement. Align and mesh gears in gearbox to assemble a system of gears. Operate drill presses, punch presses, or riveting machines to assist in assembly operation. May test or assist in testing operation of completed product. Pack and build a pallet to prepare the product for shipment. Other duties/stations as assigned. Requirements Read/Write English – bilingual is a plus. High school diploma or equivalent. Work experience in a manufacturing environment is beneficial. Knowledge of lean manufacturing environment.
