Surgical Technologist (CST) - OR General Surgery

Location 100 Grand Street, New Britain, CT 10126. Shift 3:00 AM – 12:00 PM position. One major and one minor holiday required per year. Self‑scheduled backup call. Position Summary Assists the surgeon at the sterile field by providing appropriate and adequate sterile instruments and other supplies during the operative procedure. Maintains the surgical field through aseptic practices. Works under the supervision of the Registered Nurse as a member of the pre‑operative team. Assists in the nursing care and preparation of the surgical patient for surgery. Responsibilities Responsible for the assembly of cases. Works cooperatively with ancillary departments and other team members. Participates in performance improvement activities. Assists the department as needed. Qualifications Graduate of a formal accredited surgical technician training program. Certified surgical technician from an accredited training program.
