Provides focused attention to patients, loved ones, and staff without agenda, effectively listening and responding to their needs. Conveys personalized care to patients, families, and staff, ensuring they feel cared for and supported. Enables patients, loved ones, and staff to experience God's nearness, safety, and comfort. Assists patients, loved ones, and staff in articulating their struggles and identifying their inner resources of strength, meaning, faith, and hope. Helps patients and loved ones with major health decisions, clarifying moral, medical, and ethical issues. Enables patients, loved ones, and staff to seek their spiritual center and uses religious and culturally appropriate resources. Regularly visits patients, loved ones, and staff, making rounds and checking in with clinical staff in assigned areas. Responds appropriately to all code blues and other emergencies, verifying patient identity, notifying family, and coordinating with staff, family, and legal authorities. Documents and charts pastoral activities in compliance with hospital, state, and federal regulations. Promotes and develops the coordination of care by participating in interdisciplinary conferences and contributing significant data for comprehensive and holistic care plans. Mentors chaplain interns and residents as assigned. Other duties as assigned. **Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:** + Organizational + Verbal Interpersonal + Customer Relations + Grammar/Spelling + Read/Comprehend written instructions + Follow verbal instructions + Keyboarding (manual) + Computer (visual) + Personal commitment to God + Personal integrity and an ability to work under stress + Ability to effectively relate to and consistently provide professional, meaningful, spiritual care to patients, families and staff from diverse backgrounds with respect and reverence toward individual values and beliefs + Ability to demonstrate professional pastoral qualities that earn the respect of nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals in the clinical context + Displays a high skill level completing tasks and communicating effectively using Microsoft Office Suite and other healthcare system charting and communications applications **Education:** + Bachelor's in spiritual care, arts, or equivalent degree from college/university or institution accredited by the applicant's institutional faith body [Required] + Technical/Vocational School completion of deacon training and ordination [Required] **Field of Study:** + Bachelors Degree in spiritual care, arts, or equivalent degree from college/university or institution accredited by the applicant's institutional faith body Required OR + Completion of deacon training and ordination Required **Required Qualifications:** + A minimum of one (1) unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) completed through an ACPE-accredited center [Required] **Preferred Qualifications:** + Master of Divinity, Master of Science in Spiritual Care, or other graduate theological degree + Completion of two or more units of ACPE-accredited CPE or a CPE residency + Eligibility for Board Certification through the Association of Professional Chaplains **Work Experience:** + 1+ pastoral ministry [Preferred] **Licenses and Certifications:** + Driver's License (DL) [Required] + Board Certified Chaplain (BCC) [Preferred] **Physical Requirements:** _(Please click the link below to view work requirements)_ Physical Requirements - **Pay Range:** $26.55 - $49.39 **Background Screening Requirement (Florida Law)** Certain positions are subject to **Florida Level 2 background screening** , including fingerprinting, as required by state law.
