Physical Therapist Float PT - Outpatient

About The Job MedStar Health is looking for a Physical Therapist (float) to join our team at Therapy - Marymount. The role requires a licensed physical therapist with professional competency as a general practitioner in physical therapy, demonstrated use of varied evaluation and treatment approaches, customer service skills for interacting with patients, including communicating with patients and family members of diverse ages and backgrounds, and effective communication. The Physical Therapist provides physical therapy services to patients, including screening and evaluation, treatment planning, implementation, re-assessment and revision, re-evaluation, discharge planning, and documentation in a variety of settings. The Physical Therapist participates in program planning, protocol development, and assists the team in meeting established goals. Primary Duties Provides evaluation services, including review of pertinent history, performance of specific assessments, determination of recommendations, and documentation of results. Explains evaluation findings and treatment plan to patient and family, incorporating patient and family in goal setting. Demonstrates proficiency in implementation of treatment protocols based on evaluation findings, patient presentation, and evolving health care environment. Consults with other healthcare professionals as indicated and documents changes in patient condition requiring modification of the plan of care or medical/rehabilitation consultation. Completes appropriate discharge planning and follow-up care, accurately and timely documenting and charging for patient care activities. Provides a clear picture of the patient’s course of care, including initial evaluation/plan of care, daily encounter notes, interim progress summaries, and discharge evaluation. Demonstrates effective time management, meets productivity expectations, and manages an accurate schedule. Demonstrates professional commitment to provide frictionless patient access through flexibility, adaptability, creativity, and empathy. Takes initiative in pursuing continuing education for professional growth and competency. Serves as a clinical instructor, mentors students and inexperienced staff, volunteers, and technicians, and participates in team initiatives to remove barriers to access and improve service quality. Qualifications Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy. Graduate of an accredited school of Physical Therapy. Maryland, District of Columbia (DC), and/or Virginia licensure as required. American Heart Association’s BLS (Basic Life Support) CPR certification.
