School Psychologist

Position Summary ONC BOCES is anticipating a need for a full-time School Psychologist. The goal of psychological services is to provide precise information on a student’s academic and emotional status so that he or she receives the most appropriate education. Psychologists administer a variety of educational tests to help teachers better understand the learning style of the student. They serve as consultants to teachers and counselors, provide direct counseling to students who are experiencing problems, provide support to parents, and serve as a resource to the CSE. Compensation and Benefits 2026-2027 School Year: Starting Base Salary: $51,830 Plus $525 per year of experience Plus $45 per graduate credit Plus $1,150 per master’s degree NYS retirement, EAP, continuing education assistance, and exceptional insurance, including retiree health insurance. Qualifications Current NYS School Psychologist certification is required. Experience working in a school setting preferred. Selection Process and Application Requirements Civil Service position candidates must be reachable on the existing eligibility list. If there is no mandated eligibility list, candidates will be considered for provisional appointment. Continued employment will be contingent on successfully passing the required examination and being reached on the eligibility list. The selected applicant will be subject to a fingerprint support criminal history background check in accordance with SAVE Legislation effective July1,2001.
