Associate/Full Professor of Surgery – Chief, Section of Colorectal Surgery Division of Surgical Oncology Department of Surgery University of California, San FranciscoThe Department of Surgery, Division of Surgical Oncology, University of California, San Francisco, is seeking outstanding candidates for a full-time academic colorectal surgeon to be the Section Chief of Colorectal Surgery. Candidates must be board certified by the American Board of General Surgery and have completed a fellowship in Colon and Rectal Surgery, or Complex General Surgical Oncology with a dedicated fellowship in colorectal surgery. Successful candidates will demonstrate an aptitude for providing evidence based, high quality care in clinical teams that enhance the patient experience with a commitment to patient safety and satisfaction. The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing all clinical, academic, research, and administrative activities in the Section of Colorectal Surgery. This includes leading a team of nationally recognized surgeons and healthcare professionals, promoting innovative surgical techniques, advancing research in malignant and benign colorectal surgery, and providing exceptional patient care. The selected candidate will also collaborate with other departments and divisions to promote interdisciplinary approaches to patient care, research, and education. Successful candidates must have a proven track record of program building as well as effective leadership, communication, and collaboration skills. Research productivity is expected and dedicated time for research will be considered. Candidates should have a national reputation for clinical excellence and scholarship in colorectal disease. Candidates must have recognized skills in the education of surgery residents and medical students and will be expected to be active participants in the Department’s and Division’s training programs, as well as to the education of medical students. Additionally, candidates are expected to participate in University service, faculty meetings, monthly Grand Rounds and M&M conferences; contribute to quality assurance programs and continuing education; and advance the mission of the Section and Division of Surgical Oncology.UC San Francisco seeks candidates whose experience, teaching, research, and community services that have prepared them to contribute to our commitment to excellence. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $190,600 - $405,900.
