Electrical Engineer II – Compressor Station FacilitiesLocation: Houston, TX Work Environment: Approximately 80% Office / 20% Field Experience: 2+ YearsPosition OverviewWe are seeking an Electrical Engineer II to provide electrical engineering support for compressor station facility expansion and maintenance capital projects.This position will work closely with Project Management, Operations, Construction, Supply Chain, and third-party engineering firms to ensure electrical designs meet project requirements, applicable codes, industry standards, and company specifications.The ideal candidate has a solid electrical engineering foundation, experience supporting industrial or facility capital projects, and is comfortable reviewing engineering deliverables and providing technical support from project development through construction and commissioning.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport development of the electrical scope, schedule, capital cost estimates, execution plans, and project risks for assigned facility projectsEnsure electrical facilities are designed in accordance with applicable regulations, industry codes, and company standardsProvide technical oversight of electrical design work performed by third-party engineering firmsReview and approve electrical engineering deliverables, including: drawings and design packages, technical reports, material lists and specificationsReview vendor quotations and participate in technical bid evaluationsProvide recommendations based on technical requirements, cost, and delivery considerationsCollaborate with Supply Chain to support material and equipment procurementProvide electrical engineering support to field teams during construction and commissioningWork closely with Project Managers to communicate project progress, cost, schedule, and riskCoordinate with Operations to ensure required facility and operational requirements are incorporated into designsProvide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and other team membersSupport departmental and continuous improvement initiatives as neededEnsure project scope and designs comply with applicable regulatory, environmental, health, and safety requirementsAssist peers and senior engineering staff with business initiatives and regulatory/legal complianceRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in EngineeringMinimum 2 years of relevant engineering experienceUnderstanding of electrical engineering principles, codes, standards, and specificationsAbility to review and evaluate electrical drawings and technical documentationStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsAbility to effectively communicate technical issues and their impacts to both technical and non-technical stakeholdersStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage time-sensitive project deliverablesStrong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applicationsPreferred QualificationsProfessional Engineer (PE) designationExperience supporting compressor stations, natural gas transmission, pipeline facilities, or similar industrial facilitiesExperience with capital expansion and maintenance projectsExperience overseeing electrical design deliverables produced by third-party engineering/EPC firmsExposure to construction, field engineering, and commissioning activitiesExperience with vendor technical evaluations and equipment/material procurementAbility to resolve technical issues through the application or modification of engineering standards and previous project experienceWorking EnvironmentThis role is approximately 80% office-based, working across multiple project teams, with approximately 20% field work supporting project scoping, construction, and commissioning activities.The position requires someone who can balance multiple priorities, communicate effectively across engineering and operations teams, and provide practical electrical engineering support throughout the lifecycle of capital facility projects.Location: Houston, TX Education: Engineering degree required Experience: 2+ years Field Work: Approximately 20%We strongly encourage veterans to apply! *US citizens and those authorized to work in the US are encouraged to apply. *We are unable to sponsor H1b candidates at this time.
