Job Title: L&D RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience License: RN license required Certifications: BLS through AHA required ACLS through AHA required NRP required Must-Have: 2+ years of circulating C-Sections required 2+ years of previous Labor and Delivery experience required Description: This position involves the care of laboring patients. Nursing duties during vaginal and cesarean deliveries are required. Care of couplets is part of the responsibilities. The facility uses EPIC Stork documentation and Centricity fetal monitoring system. The Pyxis medication system is utilized for medication management. The nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:1, possibly 1:2 if in early labor or induction of labor. Couplet care may involve a ratio of 1:3. The nurse will float based on the need between facilities. The nurse will work alongside a shift nurse lead and at least six other L&D RNs. Weekends are required, working three out of four weekends. There is no call requirement for this position. Dress code consists of hospital-provided scrubs.
