Exciting Opportunity as a Sterile Processing Technician!

Job Description:


- Join a dynamic team dedicated to ensuring the highest standards of patient care!
- As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will be crucial in the cleaning, processing, and sterilization of surgical instruments and reusable medical items.
- Function as a Case Cart Attendant in the Operating Room, supporting surgical teams by ensuring all necessary instruments and equipment are ready.

Key Responsibilities:


- Receive, sort, process, assemble, and sterilize patient care equipment and surgical instruments per established policies.
- Understand and implement proper use of detergents, disinfectants, and Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E.).
- Operate and load various sterilizers (Steam, ETO, Sterrad, and Steris) and perform biological tests and Bowie Dick tests with accuracy.
- Maintain diligent and accurate sterilization records, ensuring all items processed are correctly logged.
- Prepare case carts using doctors' preference information, assembling instruments, drugs, and special equipment as needed.
- Communicate effectively with the nursing team, notifying them of any missing items and collaborating with coordinators regarding supply shortages.
- Lift up to 50 lbs, push and pull up to 60 lbs, and stand for the duration of your shift.
- Adhere to the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies and operational standards.

Qualifications:


- Required:
- Minimum 2 years of recent hospital Sterile Processing experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- National Certification: CRCST or CBSPDT.
- Ability to work alternating weekends and a rotating schedule.

- Preferred:
- 3-5 years of experience in a high-volume acute care or Level I trauma facility.
- Knowledge of decontamination, instrument inspection, assembly, sterilization, infection prevention, and AAMI standards.

- Proficiency in decontamination, instrument assembly, sterilization, case cart preparation, and instrument tracking systems (SPM).
- Strong understanding of biological and chemical monitoring.

- Strong time management and ability to work independently.
