Quantitative Ecologist: Biodiversity & eDNA Analytics

We are seeking a highly motivated Quantitative Ecologist to support applied research and scientific innovation focused on environmental DNA (eDNA), biodiversity science, and aquatic and terrestrial ecosystem monitoring. This role combines quantitative analysis, scientific writing, and collaborative research to advance next‑generation ecological assessment tools. Responsibilities Analyze complex ecological, environmental, and molecular datasets using statistical and computational approaches Develop technical reports, scientific manuscripts, and client‑facing research summaries Conduct applied research to expand the use of eDNA methodologies in aquatic and/or terrestrial environments Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on biodiversity assessment, ecological monitoring, and environmental research initiatives Design and implement analytical workflows for ecological and molecular datasets Contribute to study design, data interpretation, and publication development Support development of new applications involving genomics, biodiversity informatics, and ecological modeling Qualifications PhD in Ecology, Environmental Science, Biology, Quantitative Ecology, Bioinformatics, or related field Strong quantitative and statistical analysis skills Experience handling large ecological and/or molecular datasets Demonstrated scientific writing experience, including peer‑reviewed publications and technical reports Background in aquatic ecology and/or biodiversity science preferred Experience with eDNA workflows, molecular ecology, genomics, or bioinformatics is a strong plus Proficiency in R, Python, or similar analytical programming environments preferred Ability to work independently while collaborating across scientific and technical teams Preferred Experience Experience with R, Python, GIS, or bioinformatics pipelines. Environmental DNA (eDNA) sampling and interpretation Bioinformatics pipelines and sequence analysis Biodiversity monitoring and ecological modeling Aquatic ecosystem assessment GIS or spatial ecological analysis Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is scientifically rigorous, quantitatively strong, and excited about advancing the practical applications of eDNA technologies for environmental monitoring and biodiversity science. #J-18808-Ljbffr Jonah Ventures
