In addition, the Purchasing Manager is responsible for the procurement of non-inventory items that are needed to run the facility.Essential Functions:Daily review of the material requirement and bar stock requirement reports to determine purchasing requirementsPlace purchase orders for items with suppliers, including negotiate pricing, determine quantity and required deliveryAttend weekly production meetings to report on purchasing issuesCreate and maintain Approved Supplied ListTrain and manage Purchasing AssistantManage purchase orders with Suppliers, including discrepancies related to price, quantity, etc.Manage and resolve any supplier defective material issuesAny other assignments as required by the Materials ManagerBenefits:Along with our employee ownership program, we offer medical, dental, vision, a generous Paid Time Off (PTO) program in addition to holiday pay, 401k plan, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), FSA plan, employer paid life & AD&D insurance and a wide variety of voluntary plans.Requirements:Qualifications:Education/Experience:High School Diploma5 or more years of purchasing management experienceBasic Computer Skills including MS Word and ExcelGeneral experience with working with ERP purchasing systemsWorking knowledge of Material Requirements Planning systemsLanguage Skills:Fluent in EnglishMathematical Skills:Basic mathematical skillsReasoning Ability:Able to interpret purchasing contracts, engineering drawings and specificationsPhysical Demands:Employee is required to monitor workflow of purchasing areaMust be able to handle several tasks at the same time under time constraintsWork Environment:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions
