About Locum Internal Medicine Physician Jobs

- Diagnose, treat and manage a wide range of adult medical conditions, both acute and chronic, such as diabetes, hypertension and heart disease.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to create and follow through on individualized patient care plans.
- Conduct physical exams, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and assess overall patient health.
- Administer appropriate treatments and medications.
- Present patient education health promotion and disease prevention.
- Provide immediate medical attention for urgent conditions and stabilize patients when necessary.
- Maintain accurate and thorough medical records.
- Consult with specialists and make referrals, when necessary.
- Strong diagnostic and therapeutic skills across a wide spectrum of adult health issues.
- Ability to manage multiple patients and prioritize care in fast-paced environments.
- Flexibility to adapt to new work environments and different medical teams.
- Competency in maintaining meticulous documentation and patient care management.
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
- Residency training program in internal medicine accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
- Board certification in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
- Active and unrestricted medical license in Ohio .
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- While specific requirements may vary, most locum internal medicine physician positions prefer candidates with at least one year of experience providing care in a clinical setting.
- Locum tenens internal medicine physician positions are temporary assignments, often lasting weeks or months, to address staffing shortages in hospitals, surgical centers or other healthcare facilities.
