How You'll Make an Impact
- Coordinate U.S. customs operations for imports and exports.
- Ensure trade compliance by verifying HTS/HS codes and documentation.
- Collaborate with international contracts and internal teams.
- Prepare customs instructions in SAP (GTS module).
- Monitor and report on customs performance (KPIs).
- Support cost-saving initiatives in customs processes.
- Prioritize and plan customs activities across multiple sites.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Your Background
- Bachelor's degree in Foreign Trade, International Business, Logistics, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in customs and transportation.
- Advanced knowledge of customs law, HTS codes, Incoterms, and procedures.
- Experience with logistics suppliers and customs brokers.
- Strong independent work ethic and team collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
- Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
- Must be able to work onsite at our Mt. Pleasant, PA location.
Preferred:
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Experience with SAP S4 Hana (GTS & TM modules).
- Background in customs brokerage.
- Knowledge of local transport markets and regulations.
